The director of dots, Gen Kori visited KZ(concentration camp) in Germany before this work. He had felt an overwhelming distance and isolation from the history and the extreme sense of life of him that exists in there. This work is made based on his experience.
There are white thin blocks are constructed like bricks wall as background. The voice of memory rang through in the air.
The video images of landscapes in various ages and places are projected on the wall.
The anonymous bodies of performers were borne "recorded histories" and faced to themselves to run flat out from it.
In the summer of 2004, I visited KZ-Gedenkstaette Neuengamme, Hamburg, Germany.
There is the void which has an area like a gym illuminated by the light in dusk coming from some small roof windows.
My footsteps sounds per each step on their crude concrete.
The void which has the harsh experience and history had highlighted the present of me as foreign substances vividly. I was standing alone in there and facing to the void long time, alternating the history which is included in the void and a sense of reality of me.
Looking back, I have possessed by the ghost named [KZ] since visiting to KZ-Gedenkstaette Neuengamme. That is why the work is here.
Impossibility of reproduction. I cannot explain it narratively. I had tried to search the point to touch it.
We have reached for the thick darkness, became engulfed in it and struggle against it.
This work is constructed with the accumulation of experience like that.
I hope, the point to touch it is appeared for us as more actual on our bodies.
